Allied: An individual who is Not gainfully employed in the locksmithing industry, and meets any one of the following criteria:
- Actively involved in the sales and/or service of security products,
- Actively involved in the sales and/or service of: alarm systems, access control systems, fire alarm systems, etc.
- Actively involved in the sales and/or service and/or installing of any related product or system etc. (as in Door and Glass, Operators, Security Film, etc.)
- Is in a related field (Police, Guard Service, etc.)
This classification is seen on par with Active, except the Institutional locksmith typically works for one organization and does not supply services to the general public.
Governance: Not eligible to vote or hold office
